INTRODUCING... KIN!
Hello Kinfolk,
There’s a lot to catch up on. We’ve gone through a few changes, not the least of which is our name. We’re no longer pelicans, that bird has travelled south. We’re now the much more palatable Kin.
Our second fundraiser at Newspeak House was a massive hit. Thanks to everyone who turned up and had engaging conversations with us. We value these opportunities to meet with our community and we can’t wait to see you all again.
We’d also like to highlight our most recent event in Richmond this last tuesday - it’s clear a lot of people are on the same page about changing the economic system!
Fundraising is such a big part of what we need to do right now so we’d like to thank our donors and future partners for their involvement. Thanks to the generous investments and donations we’ve received, we’ve been able to commit to funding the team for the next six weeks and to getting the website up (on a server powered by renewable energy).
For those of you who are new to Kin, we hope to see you at one of our future events (info coming soon)
In the meantime, we’d like to introduce you all to our investor summary. It’s a 9 page summary highlighting everything there is to know about Kin Cooperative - the first pillar of economic transformation - including (but not limited to) why you should invest with us, how your investments will be used and how we differ from other institutions like traditional Building Societies.
If you’d like access to the full document, please reply to this email - or to info@kin.coop - with a request and we’ll send it over.
Of course, there are other ways to support us in the meantime. We are actively looking fot volunteers who have a little time to spare and heaps of passion to help dismantle capitalism one research hour at a time. If that sounds interesting to you, please get in touch at info@kin.coop and we’ll find the right project for you.
With your help, we’ll usher in a new era of financial prosperity for the people which is owned by the people. The revolution will not be televised, but it will be adequately informed on its monetary investments.
We’d like to take this moment to thank you all for your time, your expertise and your money. As a community we’ve been doing the researching, hosting events, building the foundations and putting the hours in all round because of you, our wonderful kin, sharing your time, your enthusiasm, your curiosity with us. So, keep in touch - that’s how we build a community
Until next week,
Kin
Ps. the name of this substack will soon change to reflect our new name but (we hope) you won’t have to do anything!
